Squash Racket
Squash has become a more popular sport over the years.
People who used to play only tennis are now playing squash instead or in addition. Why? People have
discovered that it gives you a great workout and, unlike tennis, is generally played indoors so weather is
not a problem.
For those who aren't familiar, it's played inside a
four-wall court and you use a racket and a hollow rubber ball. You get a good workout with this
game.
With squash, your joints, especially your knee joints
get very strong and agile from playing a sport. But you can't play well without good equipment. You do have
to have good equipment to get good at the game, so this is no place to economize.
You may not know what to choose, so here are some
pointers about choosing excellent equipment. The racket is of course primary. Titanium, aluminum, and carbon
are the usual materials of which the frame of a racket is made.
Picking a racket made of high quality materials will
certainly help to bring you more success in the game and thus enhance your workout during the game. The
racket frame has strings like a tennis racket but a shorter handle than a tennis racket.
This shorter handle is so that you have more control
in the game and can build your skill faster. Aluminum is the lightest racket you can buy and is great for
speed and if you're a lightweight yourself or are just starting out.
Carbon and titanium weigh more. They're good for more
experienced players and those who want hardier rackets that can better be controlled. So if you choose an
aluminum racket, your string tension should range from nineteen to twenty-nine pounds.
With one of the others, twenty-four to twenty-eight
pound string tension is optimal. There is one important feature that you want to make sure your new squash
racket will have. For sure you'll want your squash racket to have a system on the handle that dampens or
mitigates vibrations.
That's because you don't want to be receiving shock
waves up your arm every time you hit a ball. With the mitigating system, you'll be better able to judge the
intensity of the return shots because you'll have better ball feel rather than just feeling shocks from every
hit.
In squash, start out with a high-grade quality of
equipment, and you won't be sorry. That's because right from the start you'll be playing a better game of
squash and so helping to build your skill and your physical prowess.
Your joints will thank you and your overall health
will prosper. With good equipment you'll want to get out there and play, and that's half the
battle.
